Episode 96 – Textured yarns

Weird aspect ratio with this video, I will fix it later this evening!

Leslie is knitting  on Pole out of Berroco Boboli on size 9 (5.5mm) needles.  She is also knitting on a pair of socks out of Highland Handmades in the Challenging colorway.

Leslie has finished the Numma Numma for a happy on size 1.5 needles. The pattern will be published and called, Georgia on my Mind.

Laura is knitting socks out of some lovely Labybug yarn on size 1.5 needles.  Seriously, it’s adictive and you can get it for 10% off.  Labybug Fiber’s code is  LOVELADYBUG. She has also started a cowl, Flurries cowl out of some handspun. This will be on size 4 and 8 needles.  Also on the size 8 needles, are Maine Morning Mitts out of some lovely Snuggle from the Fibernymph Dyeworks Knitter’s Choice club.  Bye Bye Laar!

Laura has spun the  Loop batt on the bug.   She got 406 yards of n-plied yarn.  She is also spinning Crown Mountain Farms Superwash Merino in the Touch Me Colorway on the Lendrum. The sidekick has some Twisted Fiber Arts in the Terrain (not a current colorway).   She has also been playing a bit with her spindle (spindle bags tutorial is here) and with core spinning. Leslie is spinning some Tempted Fiber Arts Cashmere blend.

I love your podcast! I especially appreciate the little tips – never knew I needed to not pull lace-weight from the center of the cake. Although that makes sense. But what this about re-skeining from a cake? Does it really make a difference? I’ve been storing my handspun in cakes…..will I have to say goodbye to all those pretty little cakes?
