Click the “continue reading” below the video to enter this week’s contest!

Laura has on the needles some self-designed socks out of STR lightweight in the Fire on the Mountain colorway (size 1.5 needles) and also has some  cutest booties on the needles.  This yarn was purchased at the wonderful Sweet Sheep Yarn shop when I first began knitting.

Leslie is knitting on a new sweater using Jared Flood’s class notes about EZ’s sweater percentage system (You can find more details about it in Knitting without Tears). Cowl out of the lovely Aran weight from Another Crafty Girl.

Laura is finished with several premie baby hats for Remembering Remy.  She has finished  a Log Cabin Blanket from Mason Dixon Knitting.  It is on size 11 (8.0mm) needles and knit out of Classic Elite Sprout.  Finished size was 22×22 unblocked (perfect car seat size, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it). Alice is also getting an At First Sight hat out of Spud and Chloe Sweater, knit on size 8 needles.   Laura is also done with a shawl called, Thin Ice, out of Tempted Good Grrl on size 6 needles.

Leslie is spinning on some lovely Miss Babs fiber in a Merino/Bamboo/Silk blend.  She has started spinning some

Laura has finished spinning some Frabjous Fibers in the Ink colorway of their glitter blend. She also has a 3 oz batt from  on the wheel and some superwash BFL from Numma Numma (Can you tell I like purple and blue?) Laura dreams of spinning 350 yards of a dk yarn for Knitting Pipeline’s Shaelyn KAL.  BTW: Leslie and I love Paula’s podcast, if you haven’t given it a listen, you should.

Great funny and fun episode. I don’t want to enter the contest because I don’t want you to think I only watch for the prizes, but I loves me some yarn.

  83. Kitten With A Whiplash says:

The magazine sounds interesting for the grafting and closures articles, but once again we guys are left in the lurch for patterns. Also, at $14.95 it’s a bit costly for something printed on magazine quality paper instead of at least a paperback with book quality paper. Hopefully I’ll find it a thrift shop someday, ‘cuz I would like those articles.

The cakewalk yarn is killer, love that colorway. Thanks to you and them for the giveaway.

This is the first time I have heard your podcast. I’m hooked. Cakewalk is awesome!

  92. Roz says:

Really enjoyed the show. I ordered some cakewalk yarn because of the free worldwide shipping (I’m in the UK) and I’m really looking forward to it arriving. Unfortunately I had to sign up for etsy to do so and now I think there is going to be a lot of yarn buying in the near future.

Do the knit girllls provide free housing to the people they’ve driven to bankruptcy and destitution with their enabling ways? I might be needing some by December.

    Pamaloo on ravelry

  101. Natalie Doyle says:

Just discovered your video podcast thanks to Wendy Johnson. Can’t wait to become a regular!

  102. Kate says:

I really do enjoy the book reports a lot. I have purchased several books based on your rave reviews – most recently Wendy Knits Lace. I also appreciate you showing your signature needle that broke – I would never pay that much for one circular needle – the weak spot in the design is always going to be the cable. I like interchangeable needles so I can just switch out a broken cable. Knitpicks really can’t be beat for a good needle and good service when they break – at a good price. NO affiliation, yadda yadda.

I appreciate that you two are SO consistant in what you podcast – the agenda you follow – and how often it is done. It’s nice to see a new one every week and I know that isn’t always the easiest thing to accomplish considering you both have full time jobs and families. So ThankS!!! It must be nice tho to have some motivation to get some spinning done. I have two full bobbins that need plying – and I have my trusty Louet S10 just for plying and a new bobbin from Susan’s Fiber Shop so I have no excuse. The S10 has GIaNoRmouS bobbins so it’s fantastic for plying. The weather is so nice, I should mow the lawn and clean up the garden….but I think I’ll spin on the porch instead.

    Wish you much success.

  103. Linda D. (epic1313) says:

That yarn looks awesome. Love all the contests you ladies are having. :)

  104. gilby says:

I have ordered my fiber and can’t wait to participate in my first SAL. As usual I really enjoyed your show. I live in a small town and can’t get together with knitting friends as often as I’d like. It is nice to have the two of you to hang out with.

  105. Maria says:

Really enjoyed this week’s show. Loved your review about the skirt in Knitwear magazine. I couldn’t stop giggling.

  106. ne-knopka says:

    another great giveaway

  107. Becky says:

I always love your shows! You two are a hoot together!

  108. Denise says:

Pick me, pick me! Loved your reviews. I also ran out and blog the knit.wear mag. Loved most of the patterns but not all…..

  109. Lori (HollyBerries) says:

Just love you guys! Thanks for the giveaway.

  110. Cherie says:

Just discovered you, love that you talk knitting AND spinning! Am seriously considering doing the SAL, even though I have more than enough fiber to spin already. I’ll enjoy going back through the previous podcasts. Thanks for the reviews.

  111. Shilo Artis says:

I’ve been eyeballin’ some of Miss Babs’ yarn for a sweater from Coastal Knits. I have a few colorways in mind, so I’m keeping myself on pins and needles until I decide. :-) I’ve been working on some booties for my friend’s new baby, but I just can’t seem to get them right. I’ve re-started at least 4 times. I’m glad I found your blog!

  126. Amy says:

Loved the show as usual – especially Laura’s puppy-dog eyes!

I think one week you need to film the show when you’re sitting on opposite sides – just because! I don’t know why that occurred to me this week, but it’s true that you always sit in the same spots – except when you’re shooting on location or with a big group.

  127. mary says:

I just found your wonderful podcast. It is like talking with friends about knitting. Now I am re-excited about my knitting projects again. I don’t think I’ll be up to the number of projects that you two seem to pump out….but I can challenge myself to knit each day. Looking forward to watching you in the future. :)

  128. Ana says:

I love the colors for the SAL/KAL. I am going to have to order both. Also, your review made me go out and get the new Knit Wear magazine and I will also be looking for Clara’s book.

  129. Jude says:

I can’t believe you guys are still giving away prizes!! CRAZY, but Awesome. Love you both!! ( But not in a stalker, creepy sort of way).

Remy’s story is so heart-wrenching. My prayers go out to the family; let them try and love again! I’m totally gonna stash bust my baby yarn for preemie hats for my local hospital’s NICU.

  140. anne vally says:

Fun episode! Every time my husband hears your voices on my computer, he walks into the living room, shakes his head and laughs. He has started asking if you guys respond back to me when I talk to the computer. ;-)

That’s how I felt as I listened. I can just log on to your site whenever I want to sit-n-knit and I LOVE it! I’m incredibly sad that I learned of you too late to try and get a spot at the SSK 2012.
