Leslie is obsessed with knitting, and when possible, perfection in her knitting. All stripey socks must match exactly and all lace must be blocked severely. She has major love for all of her viewers/readers and hopes to keep blogging and podcasting for years to come.
Leslie, the baby quilt turned out gorgeous! I absolutely love it. What a great gift. Laura, we are so sympatico. Also, my teenage son was in the room when you were talking about me and he was very amused that you referred to you and me as “two big dorks”. Heh heh.
I just finished “You Suck” yesterday! It was a great vampire book in such a different way than the Sookie Stackhouse and Twilight books and accompanying TV shows and movies.
Such a pretty sock yarn. When you said the colorway name i thought “awesome song.”
Great show! Safe travels!
What a beautiful quilt ! I love the simplicity and all the colors. Looks like you’ve gained some great quilting skills Leslie. The book reviews were great this week. I’d not heard of the first one you reviewed so I’ll definitely go check that one out. As always I really enjoyed relaxing on my couch with my knitting while watching you both. Laura hope your wrist completely heals soon.
Thanks for offering up another awesome giveaway ladies! I love those colors. So glad that you mentioned what shawl you were wearing Laura because that’s what I immediately wanted to know when the podcast started!
I must be the last person in the world to try Vesper sock yarn but I can’t ever find it. I’m a failed stalker. I would love to win this yarn. PS I love your show.
It was a sad day, I spent it watching the coverage and then football – and knitting. It was a nice mix of remembrance – and then moving on. Big groups of people in one place watching a game, and thankfully nothing happened. I think we ARE doing what we can do which as the Brits said during the bombing of England was to Keep Calm and Carry On. So Keep Calm and Carry Yarn. God Bless America.
I can’t believe I won!!! that is so great. yep, I’m Pattisand on rav. thanks for such a great episode. Leslie, your quilt is so beautiful. Laura, your sweater is looking great.
The vesper yarn is just so pretty and I have never tried it before but those colors look perfect! Laura your sweater is looking beautiful and I am sure nothing will go wrong and you will finish it by next week. Another great episode, and yes Leslie I too cannot watch the 9/11 as it is so sad and always reminds me of watching it late at night whilst I was feeding my 1 month old daughter and thinking a horror movie had come on the tv, but then realising it was real life. OMG that was so scary and yes we shall never forget wherever we live.
Leslie, I LOVE that quilt. It’s so cute. And Laura, I can’t wait to see your sweater when it’s finished.
BTW, Leslie, that look you gave when Laura said her stash didn’t count because she bought it before she said she wasn’t buying any more was hysterical.
Oh, and that yarn looks like it wants to jump into my hands. =)
Another wonderful episode. I am looking forward to seeing the how the spinning class is for ya. And honestly, I am hoping to win the vesper. I have never worked with that before.
Thanks for another awesome podcast! I so needed something soothing after a crazy interview. My Monday is never complete until I watch your podcast! That Vesper is so darn purdy too!
LOVE the stripeys, and cardi and baby Perogie’s quilt came out so great! I always knit along while watching you guys and managed to finish one of my sock monkey stripey socks -Yay for me! Thanks for another enjoyable vid-cast.
Leslie- I love your quilt! I’m getting into sewing now, so i love to see your creations. Laura- love the sweater- can’t wait to see it finished! I live in NYC, so 9/11 is always a difficult time for me….I was actually expecting my son when the attacks happened (he’ll be 10 in October). What I remember most about that day was the panic everywhere as evryone was trying to locate their loved ones around the city….that and the terrible smell that came from Ground Zero……we can never forget!
Go Laura go! I think you can finish that sweater by Thursday. And love that colour combination for your sweater, Leslie!
I didn’t watch any September 11th footage on Sunday either. I agree that it should never ever be forgotten, but I also think that that the news channels are doing a bit too much dwelling on it. I’m not disagreeing that the 10th anniversary is a big thing, but did they really need to lead up to it with a week of special programs?
I am SUPER impressed with the progress on the cardigan, I don’t think I could ever do something that committed – I’m a baby knits kind of girl. Always fun to see what you girls are up to!
The Vesper looks lovely! I am very impressed that Laura’s stuck with the same project for so long – but I’m looking forward to seeing more/different knits next week! And I swear, every time the two of you show off fiber, I get a little bit closer to learning to spin. I can’t afford to yet, but it’s starting to feel inevitable, just so I have an excuse to buy beautiful fiber!
I love the quilt and I love the color of your shawl, Laura. I haven’t had very much knitting time this past week either so I’m glad I found the time to watch another great episode and get some knitting done.
Love seeing your work as usual, Laura and Leslie! Good luck with those sweaters! : ) I am happy to have the chance to win some Vesper. I’ve never tried it, and it is so pretty!
Leslie, I love your quilt and your hexi blanket is going to be cute!! Laura, you’re so close to the finish line, I’m sure you’ll get it done! Looking good so far!
Like the quilt you made, Leslie. Admire your patience with your cardigan, Laura. Great episode again. I was choking up this weekend, looking at all the programs they showed here in The Netherlands about what happened 10 years ago. After finishing this comment I am gonna look up the Vesper pattern.
Thank you for another great show! I enjoy watching and knitting with you both. You both inspire and enable me.
I am a real fan of Christopher Moore’s books. Lamb is actually my favorite. I hope you enjoy it ,Leslie.
The Vesper color way is very pretty.
Thanks to both of you for expanding my knitting “life”. I’ve never knit with Vesper yarn either but the colors are beautiful! Have a wonderful time at your class.
I would love to knit a pair of socks for my husband out of this sock yarn. He loves all the socks I knit him and he loves to walk around his office barefoot and show them all off to his colleagues. This colorway would be awesome for him!
lol now you guys have me considering the books you mentioned, especially the last one. and the vesper yarn, ooo… put my name in for that! i’d love to get my hands on some vesper=)
You guys (that’s Y’all in the south) are awesome! I love watching your show it always motivates me to get working on my projects. Keep up the good work!
Lamb is one of my favorite books, it’s such a fantastic read. Christopher Moore’s book Fluke is also fantastic, an utterly bizarre premise that works so well.
Laura and Leslie! Howdy! Laura, have you read any Cherie Priest steampunk books- kinda steampunk Harry Potter Love y’all – you are my special midnight treat!
Peace
Marni
I FINALLY got caught up all all of your videocasts – love them so much, I didn’t want to miss anything (and I must do things in order. Leslie wouldn’t understand ANYTHING about that, would she?). So, that means I finally watched a videocast in time to enter for the giveaway – and what a giveaway! I’ve been lusting for that colorway of Vesper for months now, but I never seem to be within reach of a computer when the shop is stocked. You guys are awesome!
Thank you both for the great podcast that you give us newbie knitters. I am still trying to catch up on some of the old ones but have been a regular watcher now for about a month! tsknits on ravelry. Cheers, tara
Yet again another great give away. I am trying to get caught up with all the old episodes. I am at 52. Love all the tutorials too. I have never knit with Vesper. I don’t really have an LYS near me.
I just love the colors of the vesper yarn. It would make a beautiful pair of socks and I love to knit socks. Thanks so much for giving away these freebies.
LaLa, your progress on that sweater is amazing, even with an injury! Love the Cloud Lover you got Leslie…purdy. Count me in on the Vesper, I’ve wanted to try that since you first talked about it so loooong ago.
