Episode 62 – A Banner Week

Laura & Leslie show their WIP’s, FO’s and both have Spinning content! We review Elizabeth Zimmerman’s “Knit One Knit All”, and talk about how YOU can get involved!

WIPs

I’m working on a stripy sock out of the Amy Lee Show’s Canon Hand Dyed Yarn in the Arthur base in the “We are for the Night.” Soooo close to being done.  Laura has started the “No Place Like Home Socks” by the lovely Star Athena. They are out of Wollmeise in the Pillars of Fire and size 1 (2.25) signature dpns in the 6 inch length.  I am designing “My Wish” out of Tempted Good Grlll in the Fridgid and Moondance colorways.  All proceeds from this pattern will go to Make a Wish until September 1st. Next on Laura’s needles will be some handspun socks out of Blue Moon Fiber Arts sheep to shoe in Sherbert.

Leslie has leadlight on the needles.

FOs (8:00)

Leslie is finished with the Senneh socks using the Silk Road Sock book.  She is using Hazel Knits in the Cherry Fizz colorway on 2.5 mm (1.5 US) needles.

Laura is finished with a handspun bucket hat on size 11 (8.0 mm) out of the “Cheshire Cat” colorway of Dying Arts. She has also finished a “Stuck Like Glue Cowl” out of Rios in Teal Feather on size 8 needles. I’ve also blocked the Shetland Pi shawl(size 5 US/3.75mm needles) by Wendy Johnson.  It is out of Blackberry Ridge Silk Blend Laceweight. Yay!!!! Can’t wait to knit her next pi pattern, Estonian Pi, which is available now!

Spinning  (15:00):

Laura has finished spinning Cuddy by Twisted Fiber Arts in Puffy. She got 330 yards of a light worsted weight 2-ply.  She also tried her hand at art yarn with a batt from Moonwood Farm.   I also began to spin singles from the 5 ounces of  “Grape Fizz” from Sarah Kate Fibers.  Next of Laura’s wheel is a batt from Dawning Dreams.   Leslie has finished spinning a Fiber Optic gradient BFl/Silk blend in “Bitter Lime Rose.” She got

About Leslie

Leslie is obsessed with knitting, and when possible, perfection in her knitting. All stripey socks must match exactly and all lace must be blocked severely. She has major love for all of her viewers/readers and hopes to keep blogging and podcasting for years to come.

Great idea about the guest video shoots (although don’t hold your breath about getting one from me, ha ha). I couldn’t take my eyes off of Becky’s quilt, even though I’ve been lucky enough to see it in person. So beautiful. Leslie’s variant Fiber Optic spin was gorgeous, too. Can’t wait to see what that becomes eventually. Also, Laura–fabulous idea to offer a pattern for every $5 donation for Lynn’s Make A Wish race. Love how the shawl is turning out!

  2. Ana says:

I do have 6-a-a-t of ‘just plain sox’ going also.

Your afterthought heel has given me the inspiration to give it a try on the very next sox I co
