Leslie shares her shawl design in progress and Laura shows off her designed & knit in a few hours hat! Laura reviews Knitting Classic Style by Veronik Avery & we talk about our upcoming trip.
There is snow in Mississippi! I am all about the word, “like” this week, sorry y’all.
Laura is knitting on Washington Square out of New Zealand Aran Wool from the stash. I’m in love with Through the Loops patterns. Seriously, I’m obsessed.
Leslie is knitting on a shawl of her own design out of her handspun and some stripy socks out of Vesper.
Laura is done with the Diamond Gansey Socks out of DK Knits. I also designed a beret and knit it out of Malabrigo Chunky.
Leslie has blocked her Batik out of Lynn’s Handspun. It looks sooooo nice!
Laura is spinning the batt that sheds so that it won’t share it’s fiber babies with the rest of the stash.

There is a small shawl exchange occuring on theknitgirllls group. This is being organized by Phobbs1 and Lazysockmonkey. Deadline is January 12th.

We will be daypassing it at Camp KIP!
Book Review: Knitting Classic Style by Veronik Avery. She also is the mastermind behind knitting 24/7 (It wasn’t listed on her website when I looked, but it’s awesome as well) and St. Dennis collection from Classic Elite.
We’ll be going to Oklahoma next weekend so the show will be delayed!

OMG, I’m sitting here shaking my head and telling the computer “no, no, no” when you’re talking about me podcasting and then I cracked up because Leslie obviously knows me very well. And I’m bringing my wheel, which I know is a space sucker, but in the interest of my sanity and eliminating crankiness, I seriously need some plying help, which I know I can get from you guys. Can’t wait to see you all.
I wish I could join you all this weekend. Have lots of fun!!
I really enjoy watching your podcast every week. You both are lots of fun to watch and and create the most beautiful knitting.
love this podcast and all the information you give on yarn and products
How do I get your pattern for the hat in this podcast Lala.. I’m in need of a hat since Oklahoma is getting hit with snow.
I’ll work on writing up the pattern tonight and try to get it published tomorrow (weather for photographs permitting).
I second Robin’s comment–I’ve got some bulky black WOTA that would love to become this hat.
BTW, great podcast!
Great show! I like the book that you reviewed this week and will be looking for this one
) Thanks for the mention today ;o) Hope you both have a great weekend!!
Thanks for the shout out – I’m so glad you liked the goodies.
Have a safe trip to Tempted Estates!
First, have fun in Oklahoma! Also, Veronik Avery most recently published Knitting 24/7…maybe that was the book you were thinking of? Lastly…I was wondering…Laura, did you ever finish your Norwegian Rose socks? And if not, does that mean Leslie gets to pick something from your stash??
Love your podcast. Got interested when I saw ya’ll interviewing Kathy @ HOY. Now Leslie your shawl your designing- When you pull the yarn from the beginnning to finish the end how on earth do you finish the beginning? Have fun on your trip this week and be careful.
OMG!! The Knitgirllls mentioned me on their podcast! I know it has nothing to do with me but I take what I can get. LOL
I can’t wait to see you this weekend!
Love ya!
P.S. You even pronounced my name correctly! Not many do.
