This is take two of this episode! Laura reviews Melissa Leapman’s colorwork books, Leslie shows off her finished Shipwreck & Handspun, and our Favorite Things segment takes on a life of its own. Again.
Laura is knitting on…
A Mystery Pi shawl (designed by Wendy) out of Blackberry Ridge Lace Silk Blend in the Samarkand Blue.
Noro Shawl: Based on the Silk Kerchief pattern (no longer available, but I’ll try to recreate it to the best of my ability in my pattern notes) and out of Noro Kureyon Sock in S188 and S220.
Miss Babs in Rocket Ship (Thanks Wendy). Socks are the Toe-up with gusset.
Diamond Gansey Socks out of DkKnits technicolor Dream Toes in Cracker of Nuts (she’s no longer on etsy, sad face)
BTW: I’m so tired, I’m loopy on Sonic food and Cherry Limeaide in this episode.
Leslie is knitting on…
A Pogona out of Tempted Yarn in the “That’s What She Said” colorway.
Awesome, very cool, no snag stitchmarkers at Beagindesigns
Leslie is done with…
Leslie knit a square out of Special Snowflakes Yarn Club in “Teal Deer”
Shipwreck Shawl. And the world rejoiced. Yay!
Stripy Sock out of Perfect Day Yarns
Laura is done with…
FOP square (it’s a secret and you can’t see it).
Moody Kerchief pattern out of Malabrigo Worsted in Whale Road and Noro Iroha. You can find my notes here. I heart this shawl and have already started another.

oh dear!! Are you kidding??? I am having sinus issues so awake at 2am. . Pulled up website and was like, YEAH!
But alas….it was not to be. Looking forward to seeing this one. Love to listen to you too. Reminds me of my sister and I.
Ohhhhh Leslie made socks! WANT! You guys are amazing and I love your show.
Love your faces! Awesome, amazing job on the Shipwrecked Leslie! I am starting to feel the itch to start mine as well. Thank you Lala for the book reviews, I have added them to my Christmas list (which is sparse, so thank you!).
Just so Lala doesn’t go searching all over to link the show notes!
FYI on the DKKnits yarn, she is out of production. Thought the good news is we use the same base yarn.
Happy Thanksgiving Ladies! <3
Wooo Hoo! You Rock! Lala and Leslie defeat the faulty electronic monster!! RAAA (roar of crowd)
Yeah, glad the podcast got loaded. I am definitely in for the socks. BTW, my feet aren’t little, they are normal sized.
Thanks for persevering on the podcast! I live for handmade socks made by someone OCD! Those socks can come home with me to Memphis anytime!
Hello Leslie and Laura,
Would you please enter my name in the drawing for the lovely pair of socks : )
Hope you both have a great Thanksgiving!!
Sincerely,
Marianne Wong
Would love to be entered in the drawing for the socks!! Happy Thanksgiving!!
I haven’t even watched the podcast yet and you can put me in the drawing for socks. My feet are huge but I have friends.(Really, do!)
Candis, Fl
Can you put my Daughter Heaven(age 10) in the hat for the drawing. We measured and they will fit. Kindness, T and Heaven
Happy Thanksgiving to you both. I would LOVE to have the Gothic Rose Socks! Thanks for the opportunity.
The Gothic Rose socks would fit me perfectly!
I love watching the podcast & I usually knit along with you when I’m watching.
We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Australia, but I hope you both enjoy yours!
I has a sad because my feet are only 8 inches
Oh well, means I knit socks faster
And Lala you are not a freak, you have something in common with David Bowie (not to mention lots of other people) and that make you slightly more awesome than you already were.
I am thankful to you guys and for Carin and all my podcaster people and plurky friends who enable me with awesome stuff and keep me motivated to knit more and improve my skills!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I would love to be put in the drawing for the socks. Recently discovered you and have just finished catching up on all the episodes!
I’m so glad you got the show up and running……………..
Oh, those socks would fit me to a T and I would be proud to wear them.
Please enter my name in the drawing for the gorgeous socks! My huge foot will not fit them, but they would be perfect for my daughter who is turning 18 on 11/29 (oh my lord – I am so old!). She steals my (huge) hand knit socks and wears them even though her foot is swimming in them.
Great show! The Knit Girllls triumph over technology! It was a knock out! Thanks again for taking the time to rerecord for us! (you know I get itchy without my fix of y’all every week!)
Please enter me for the socks- Although they would fit me- I would actually like to enter for my mom- she has slender feet (you know the model type feet- I got my dad’s toes- thanks dad!)- is an avid sock knitter (and of course never knits for herself) AND Thanksgiving is her birthday this year- GOBBLE BOBBLE Mom!
Hope you have a fantastic Thanksgiving!
Would love to make Maryland the home of your socks. Thanks for a chance to win. Look so forward to your podcast every week. Have learned so much. Happy Thanksgiving!
Those socks look like they could do with a trip to Australia! I live in the mountains so woolly socks are a must in winter here.
Could you put my name in for the socks? I think they’ll fit me perfectly.
Leslie and Laura, I am glad that the second time around worked out for you guys. Love your show, look forward to it every week. Always like to see what is on the needles.
Leslie, could you enter my name in for the sock, it is beautiful.
Have a great Thanksgiving weekend ladies. Do either of you do Black Friday Shopping?
Sheila
The Shipwreck looks gorgeous! The name of that base is Temptation.
Your sock have the exact measurements I need for my feet. I would love to call them mine.
Thanks for a wonderful videocast, you guys are awesome.
Hi! I measured my foot & like cinderella, Leslie’s handknit socks would be a perfect fit. I hope that you two ladies are having a wonderful holiday weekend. I’ve enjoyed your video podcasts immensely, keep up the great work!

Hi Laura and Leslie my name is Cinderella so the socks must fit my feet……
Thanks for the podcast I love it.
Love the podcast –somehow it came in late for me and I just finished watching it.
.
The socks would be perfect color and size for my 13 year old. She loves home made socks and I owe her a pair. She knits but not socks. Lil sister is making her first pair and loving them.
Wrote down the color knitting books to add to my amazon list. I am a book hoarder. Will check them out at the library or online but always want to keep them
My jaw dropped with utter amazement when Leslie held up that Shipwreck Shawl and the merino/cashmere/silk handspun. Love it! I’m also pissed at myself for missing out on the sock raffle, because those socks would look fab on my feet. (I have narrow feet–the only narrow thing on my body.) Also, Leslie, if you decide that the MadTosh green sock yarn is too brown-y for you, I will totally buy it off you–love that color!
I just downloaded the podcasts (as still no internet at home) and I can’t wait to watch it!
